Sciolari table lamps, brass with crystals, 1970`s ca, Italy.

Both lamps have been thoroughly cleaned, newly rewired with new gold silk cord, plug & a cable switch. They are ready to use. Light bulbs included.

It was such a pleasure and rarity to find this vintage pair of table lamps to compliment Gaetano Sciolari’s optical crystal shard chandeliers. Minimal yet decorative, these Modernist sculptural table lamps are ideal where space is limited such as on a bedside table.

Each frame is in polished gold plated gilt. From a stepped circular plinth rises a central column with 4 geometric arms. At the end of each arm there is an optical crystal shard securely attached with a gilt screw. Each lamp has 4 quality crystal shards for a total of 8. The hand polished crystal shards have an optical effect which creates depth & interesting reflections.

Each lamp takes 1 standard small screw (E14) light bulb up to 40 Watts. Presently photographed with clear candle shaped light bulbs. Alternatively these lamps could take other bulb shapes such as Pygmy or Crown Gold light bulbs for a different look.

The removable crystal shards are in excellent condition with only one having a minor tiny chip next where it screws to the frame (as photographed). This however is mostly covered by the screw and hardly noticeable. The metal frames are in very good condition with some age related patina adding character, and minor rubbing to the gold plated gilt in line with age.

Packing is offered free of charge: the crystal shards & light bulbs would be removed & individually wrapped. Together these would be boxed with the frames. Light bulbs included in the price. They sell together. The price is for the pair.

At Roomscape we have also available in stock for sale a matching pair of Sciolari brass chandeliers with optical crystal shards (photographed): item 10747 & item 10632 .

Gaetano Sciolari Biography

While Sciolari Lighting has been around since 1892, it was their most famous offspring Gaetano Sciolari who went on to design for Italian manufacturer Stilnovo in the 1950’s. Sciolari`s first designs were Atom inspired pendants, but in the 60’s he shifted to conventional chandelier forms. Read more on our Blog about Gaetano Sciolari Lighting.
