Bakalowits wall lights, quality crystals on a silver gilt frame, 1950`s ca, Austria

Both wall lights thoroughly cleaned, newly rewired and ready to install. Light bulbs included.

This pair of Modernist vintage wall lights are attributed to Austrian maker Bakalowits. Each contains 36 quality Austrian crystals; unique hexagonal shaped faceted droplets hanging in a geometric pattern from a four tiered nickel plated frame. The geometrical design achieved is elegant & modern.  The silver gilt finish on the frame gives a warm glow to the piece  Each frame is convex with the tiers in graduating sizes which adds volume. An elegant pair which could work with the original matching chandelier (available as item #10656 for sale on this site) or on their own. Ideal for the Hollywood Regency look as well as a Modernist or Traditional setting. Each tiered frame is removable and screws to the top of the nickel plated rectangular base. Each base contains 3 lights; 2 facing upwards and 1 downwards. The lamp holders are covered in the same elegant toned metal as the frame. On the reverse of the base there is a metal plate with 2 holes through which each base is screwed securely to the wall. Each light carries 3 standard small screw light bulbs (E14) up to 40 Watts each. Presently photographed with 15 Watts clear Pygmy light bulbs, but could take other type of bulb like candle or golf for more illumination or a different look. Both lights have at the bottom of the frame a dangling cord switch with metal finial which could be removed if preferred. All the crystals are in excellent condition and easily removable for transport. Both frames are in very good condition, with some antique patina on the nickle plated surface, in a warm golden shade which adds character. Also in stock available for sale is the matching chandelier item # 10656, which originally came from the same set. Both wall lights sell together. The price is for the pair.
