Bakalowits chandelier, 1950`s ca, Austrian in Antique & Vintage Chandeliers from Roomscape

This Modernist chandelier attributed to Bakalowits has an impressive 132 quality Austrian crystal hexagonal faceted droplets arranged in a geometric pattern over four tiers. The geometrical design achieved is elegant & modern, the silver gilt finish on the frame gives a warm glow to the piece. An additional fifth tier with 15 crystal icicles finishes the chandelier at the top. This piece would suit a range of decors such as Hollywood Regency, Modernist or Traditional. Inside the frame carries at the centre, 9 alternated lamp holders with elegant covers, each fitted with a standard small screw light bulb (E14) up to 40 Watts each. Presently photographed with Pygmy shape 15 watts light bulbs, but could take others like candle or golf shape for more illumination. At the bottom of the frame carries 1 standard big screw light bulb (E27) up to 100 Watts, very useful to increase light on a surface such as a dining table. At present fitted with a 25 Watts clear golf light bulb for ambient lighting. At the top of the bar there is the original silver gilt ceiling cup which has inside a hook to fit the chandelier to the ceiling. For easy transport the rod could be unscrewed, and each crystal droplet individually wrapped. All the crystals are in excellent condition. The frame is in very good condition, with some antique patina on the silver gilt surface, in a warm golden shade which adds character to the piece.
