Pair of bronze wall lights sconces, twin arm, Neoclassical de sign, cast in gold plated gilt bronze,1980`s ca, English.

These wall lights have been gently cleaned while respecting the vintage patina. They are newly rewired & earthed, fully working, PAT tested by an electrician and ready to install. Each sconce has new lamp holders with covers and finished with new lampshades. Light bulbs are included. These lights can be use with a dimmer. It is possible to use these lights in other countries although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity.

These lights sell together as a pair; the price featured here is for the pair.

These elegant pair of twin arm wall lights from the late Twentieth Century are a reinterpretation of the traditional Neoclassical sconce. Key design features are the classic amphora body, scrolling leaf arms & acorn finial. This design would suit a range of interiors such as Antique, Traditional, Hollywood Regency & Country.

Each sconce frame in gilt bronze has a bulbous, amphora type backplate with two leaf scrolling arms. The arms are quality cast with attention to detail. For example the top leaf rises upwards hiding the wires behind and creating depth.

The scrolling arms are finished with a milgrain bobeche drip pan and candle cup, repeating the theme of the main body, and a lamp holder. The new lamp holders are covered with removable new cream card candle tubes.

Each light is finished with a removable new clip-on grey silk lampshade, finished with fabric trim and metallic gold lining.

The central portion of each frame elongates towards the top finishing with a decorative ring. The long neck is decorated with a foliate linear pattern.

The bottom of the frame has an acorn finial motif.

The frame has two holes to fit the light to the wall.

Each wall light carries 2 standard small screw light bulbs (E14) up to 40 Watts. At present these lights are fitted & photographed with Candle clear shaped light bulbs of 28 Watts. These are included in the price. It is possible to use other E14 Candle light bulbs.

Both sconces are in very good condition. The frames are sound with no damage. The gilt bronze finish is in very good condition, with a light warm vintage patina and minor superficial tiny marks in line with age & wear. The lampshades are new and in very good condition.

The dimensions of the frame alone (without the lampshades) is: Height: 40 cm, Width: 36 cm, Depth: 12 cm.
