This set of 6 sconces sell together or in pairs. The price featured here is for the set of 6 together.
These elegant set of twin arm wall lights from the late Twentieth Century are a reinterpretation of the traditional Neoclassical sconce. Key design features are the classic amphora body, scrolling leaf arms & acorn finial. This design would suit a range of interiors such as Antique, Traditional, Hollywood Regency & Country.
Each sconce frame in gilt bronze has a bulbous, amphora type backplate with two leaf scrolling arms. The arms are quality cast with attention to detail. For example the top leaf rises upwards hiding the wires behind and creating depth.
The scrolling arms are finished with a milgrain bobeche drip pan and candle cup, repeating the theme of the main body, and a lamp holder. The new lamp holders are covered with removable new cream candle tubes.
Each light is finished with a removable new clip-on grey silk lampshade; finished with fabric trim and metallic gold lining.
The central portion of each frame elongates towards the top finishing with a decorative ring. The long neck is decorated with a foliate linear pattern.
The bottom of the frame has an acorn finial motif.
The frame has two holes to fit the light to the wall.
Each wall light carries 2 standard small screw light bulbs (E14) up to 40 Watts. At present these lights are fitted & photographed with Candle clear shaped light bulbs of 28 Watts. These are included in the price. It is possible to use other E14 Candle light bulbs.
All six vintage sconces are in very good condition. The frames are sound with no damage. The gilt bronze finish is in very good condition, with a light warm vintage patina and minor superficial tiny marks in line with age & wear. The 12 lampshades are new and in very good condition.
