Maison Charles pineapple lamp (attributed), green crystal on a gold plated bronze frame, 1950`s ca, French.

This table lamp has been gently cleaned while respecting the vintage patina. It is newly rewired &  PAT tested by an electrician and ready to use. It has a new lamp holder with new brass cover, gold tone silk cable, new black cord switch & a new black plug. It  can be used with a dimmer. It is possible to use this light in other countries with a light bulb suitable to local electricity.

This sculptural vintage lamp has a quality cast gilt bronze base with hand polished faceted crystal and many Neoclassical design references typical of French company Maison Charles, the attributed designer & manufacturer.

The slender form is well suited for the bedside or corridor. It would make a playful addition to a range of Interiors including Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, Mid Century, Traditional or Contemporary.

This lamp has four parts: a pedestal base, a sculptural pineapple, the lamp holder and lampshade.

The pedestal consists of a gilt bronze square plinth supporting a faceted green crystal cube. This supports the pineapple with acanthus leaves. The pineapple is also of faceted green crystal. The acanthus leaves are bronze with gilt finish. The pineapple is finished with solid polished brass leaves curving upwards & out, complementing the acanthus leaves below and adding depth & great reflections when the light is switch on.

Inside this sculptural composition runs a brass column with the cables leading to the new lamp holder with a polished brass tone cover.

This lamp carries one standard (E14) small screw light bulb up to 40 Watts. Presently fitted & photographed with a Candle clear shaped bulb of 40 Watts, which is included in the price. It is possible to use other E 14 light bulbs.

Finished with a new black silk clip-on lampshade. This is has gold metallic lining to complement the gilt bronze tones on the lamp.

The bottom of the lamp it is padded with new white felt to protect the furniture below. Underneath, inside the plinth there is the original manufacturer`s paper label as photographed.

This vintage lamp is in very good condition. The glass pieces are in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The metal surfaces have minor superficial rubbing and patina in line with age. The lampshade is new and in excellent condition.
