Hillebrand wall light, impressively tall at 47 cm, made in the Brutalist style from handmade glass on a brass frame, 1970`s ca, German.
Thoroughly cleaned respecting the vintage patina. Newly rewired, earthed, in full working order & ready to install. Light bulbs included. It is possible to install this light in other countries although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity. It can be used with a dimmer.
This large sculptural vintage wall light, by quality German manufacturer Hillebrand, has an impressive
Brutalist ‘ice’ effect glass with
undulating form.
The quality glass alongside the gold tone of the solid polished brass gives this Minimalist design elegance.
This light is ideal for a range of interiors such as Art Deco, Classical, Hollywood Regency, Minimalist or Contemporary. The large size & sculptural design make it perfect when a single wall light is needed, say in a corridor, stairwell or bathroom.
At the focal point there is a large handmade Murano clear glass shade.
The outside surface is polished to a shine and has an undulated wave pattern simulating ice or water. The internal surface is textured with a layer of sparkling crystal shards. The result is a softly diffused light with depth & delicate sense of movement.
The removable glass shade slides down into the frame. The glass shade sits securely in place and can be easily removed to gain access to change the 2 light bulbs.
The base consists of a central rectangular vertical metal column, in white lacquer, with solid brass folds on each side, where the glass shade slides on. There are two gilt metal lamp holders, both facing upwards. The base can easily be screwed to the ceiling or wall through 2 holes, one at the top and the other at the bottom.
This vintage wall light carries 2 standard screw E 27 light bulbs up to 60 Watts each. At present fitted and photographed with 25 Watts clear Candle light bulbs. These are included in the price.
At the bottom of the base there is the original pull cord switch, this allows the light to be switched on/off either from the light itself or the main switch on the wall. This pull cord switch could be easily removed if preferred.
This vintage light is in very good condition. The glass shade is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The frame`s solid brass surfaces have the original clear lacquer in
good condition, with minor rubbing and a warm age patina on the brass in line with age. The original paper Hillebrand maker`s label is present on the reverse of the frame.
Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport the shade will be removed, bubble wrapped & boxed individually. Together these pieces would fit securely into a box ideal for shipping.
