Brass duck table lamp attributed to Maison Charles of Paris, 1970`s ca, French.

Thoroughly cleaned respecting the antique patina. Newly rewired & earthed with new brass lamp holder, gold toned silk cable, new plug and new black cord switch. Light bulb included. This table lamp is ready to use.

At the focal point of this sculptural vintage lamp is a quality cast Mallard duck finished in highly polished solid brass. There is exceptional quality detail in the feathers & face and the piece has a substantial weight.

This smart lamp is a nice size for a console table, side table, desk or a sideboard. The naturalistic theme and choice of materials would suit a range of interiors such as Minimal, Antique, Country, Art Deco or Hollywood Regency.

The combination of the polished brass with the gloss black of the base & shade together create a stronge sculptural piece.

Behind the duck there is a solid brass column arching forward leading to the new brass lamp holder which is earthed.

The original vintage pagoda lamp shade is present. It has a black patent effect with a trim of brown fabric & gold detailing. Inside, the shade has a golden lining which casts a warm light and brings together the tones. The shade screws to the lamp holder by a metal ring.

This lamp takes 1 standard big screw light bulb (E27) up to 60 Watts.

At the bottom the piece sits on an octangonal black lacquered plinth. The base has 4 feet underneath to protect the surfaces.

The solid brass sculpture & plinth base are in very good condition. The vintage lamp shade is in good condition; the outside of the shade has only minor marks and the fabric trim has some wear in line with age. There is minor "bubbling" on the inside gold metallic lining although this is not noticeable when the shade is on (as photographed).

Additional dimensions:

The total Height with shade is 52 cm

The base alone has the dimensions: Height: 36 cm, Width: 28 cm, Depth: 16 cm.

The lampshade alone has the dimensions: Height: 21.5 cm, Width: 30 cm, Depth: 21 cm.

Packing is offered free of charge. The lamp shade would be removed. The shade & base would be bubble wrapped separately and boxed safely for transport.
