Willy Daro light, brass flowers by Massive Lighting, 1970`s ca, Belgian.

This lamp has been gently cleaned while respecting the vintage patina. It is newly rewired, earthed, fully working and PAT tested by an electrician. Crown Gold light bulbs included. This light would work with a dimmer. It is possible to use this light in other countries although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity.

This large brass flower vintage light, in the style of designer Willy Daro, was manufactured by `Massive Lighting` of Belgium. It can be fitted either as a ceiling or wall light.

The decorative & sculptural design in quality textured brass would complement a range of interiors such as Art Deco, Traditional, Hollywood Regency, Minimalist or Contemporary.

The design in the Brutalist style, consists of a pair of large gold-plated gilt brass flowers. The brass tubular bar is decorated with vertical fluting. This attaches to a circular base of the same finish that attaches to the wall or ceiling.

Each flower is made up of 6 quality cast naturalistic textured leaves. The centre of each flower is finished playfully with a metal lamp holder, perfect for a decorative Gold Crown light bulb, as photographed. These bulbs reflect the light back on the frame which enhances the texture & mood.

Each flower has removable petals of two sections which can separate. Each section is shaped as a gilt brass ring with 3 leaves attached. Both rings stack together to create a flower with 6 leaves. The top outer ring is designed for the stem of the 3 leaves to overlap the lower ring thereby adding stability and creating a continuous form. These parts of the flowers are held together by a metal ring that screws to the top of the metal lamp holders.

This light carries two large standard screw light bulbs E 27 up to 60 watts each. This light is presently fitted with Gold Crown light bulbs of 60 Watts, as photographed. These bulbs are included in this price. Replacements are easy to purchase in most lighting shops or over the internet. Alternatively, it is possible to use any other E 27 light bulb shape for a different look.

Fitting this light to the ceiling or wall is simple. A metal bracket screws sideways to the circular frame. The bracket has 2 holes itself through which it is screwed to the ceiling/wall.

There is an extra manufacturer`s hole on one side of each round frame for a pull cord switch if wanted.

On the backside of the round base there is the original paper Massive Lighting manufacturer`s label.

This vintage light is in excellent condition. The quality gilt brass frame is sound and has only superficial marks in line with age. The gilt finish on the metal is in very good condition, with a lovely tone and patina present in line with age.

Additional dimensions:

Each flower has a diameter of 37 cm.

The diameter of the circular base that attaches to the wall is 8 cm

Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care in packing. The rings with petals will be separated from the main frame. The parts will be bubble wrapped individually and fit easily into a box with loose fill ideal for posting.
