Vintage horse lamp in brass & Verdigris by `Lustrerie Massive`, 1970`s ca, Belgian.
Thoroughly cleaned respecting the antique patina. Newly rewired & earthed with silk cable, new brass lamp holder, new plug and new switch on the cable. Light bulb included. This lamp is ready to use.
This sculptural vintage table lamp has a well cast horse head in metal with a Verdigris patina effect. Behind the horse there is a solid brass column arching forward leading to the brass lamp holder. It is on a black lacquered square plinth base and has the original pagoda lamp shade. The combination of textures: Verdigris, brass, polished black and metallic gold are particularly smart.
The classic equine theme would suit a wide range of interiors, particularly well suited for a desk, side table or sideboard.
The original vintage pagoda lamp shade has a patent leather effect of black gloss with black fabric trim. Inside it is lined in gold which casts a warm tone and brings together the brass lighting features. The shade screws to the new brass lamp holder by 2 brass rings.
This lamp takes 1 standard large screw light bulb (E27) up to 40 Watts which is included.
The lacquer on the plinth base, Verdigris metal sculpture and brass attachment for the light are in excellent condition. The lamp shade is in good condition for its age, with only a few rubbing marks on the gold lining & outside surface but no rips or cuts. There is some rubbing to the metal lamp shade frame inside, and some wear on the fabric trim,
The total Height with lampshade is: 58 cm.
The dimensions of only the base (without the lamp shade) are Height: 40 cm, Width: 17 cm, Depth: 17 cm.
The dimensions of the lamp shade are Height: 26 cm, Width: 35.5 cm, Depth: 25 cm.
Packing is offered free of charge. The lamp shade would be removed. The shade and base would be bubble wrapped separately and boxed together perfect for a courier service.
Lustrerie Massive History
Massive Lighting or ` Lustrerie Massive ` was founded in 1926 in Belgium. For much of it`s history the company was family run and in 2000 was honoured as `the best lamp producer of the year`. Massive Lighting was known for high quality and original design which vary between classic and modernist styles. In 2008 the company became part of Phillips Corporation making this vintage lamp by `Massive Lighting` actually quite rare.
