Vintage brass magazine rack, in faux bamboo, in the style of Maison Bagues, 1940`s ca, French.

This item has been gently cleaned while respecting the vintage patina and is ready to use.

The Naturalistic bamboo effect, together with Neoclassical & Modernist features executed in solid brass, suggest this magazine rack could be from Maison Bagues of Paris.

With its delicate proportions & scrolling patterns this magazine rack is light & elegant. Not only stylish it is also practical. It would make a super finishing touch to a range of interiors such as Traditional, Country, Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, 70`s Glamour, Shabby Chic or Contemporary.

The quality cast frame has a Modernist twist to the traditional magazine rack with the use of pointed angle shapes & parallel diagonal lines. The bamboo segments are cast delicately with attention to detail.

Structurally it is made of solid brass and has a good weight. The round top handle repeats the bamboo theme as a focal design point. At the bottom there are slender cabriole feet. On the inside two compartments have bamboo slats on which the magazine/books rest.

This vintage magazine rack is in very good condition. The frame is sound with no damages. The brass surfaces are in good condition, with the original warm antique patina preserved adding character. Minor rubbing in places in line with age & wear.

Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport the rack would be wrapped in bubble wrap & foam. It would be then put into a box with loose fill packing nuts, safe for posting with a courier. We ship with reliable couriers (signed for, tracked & insured).
