Victorian antique table lamp, brass, with decorative fluting, 1890`s ca, English
This antique lamp has been gently cleaned while respecting the antique patina. It is newly rewired & earthed, PAT tested by an electrician and ready to use. It has a a new lamp holder, silk cable, new switch & a new plug. This lamp could be used with a dimmer. It is possible to use this light in other countries with a light bulb & plug suitable to local electricity.
The slender form, elegant proportions & presence, make this lamp suited for any room. They would suit a range of interiors such as Antique, Traditional, Country & Hollywood Regency.
Looking from the bottom, there is a thick plinth in polished brass with embossed leaf pattern on the collar of the round base. The tapering baluster elongated column with fluted decoration adding multiple reflections. At the top there is the new lamp holder inside a cover, both of brass.
Two brass removable rings secure the shade to the lamp holder.
This antique lamp is finished with a quality vintage screw on lampshade of exceptional elongated form & great presence, probably early 50`s, covered with what is probably Sanderson of London fabric. The lampshade is lined. The floral pattern on the outside is rich & bold, making a nice contrast with the gold frame. The inside is beige fabric. The frame ring portion that screws to the base turn in angle to change the bulb or level the shade.
Underneath the lamp base is padded with new black felt to protect the furniture below.
This lamp carries 1 standard small screw light bulb (E14) up to 40 Watts. At present it is fitted & photographed with Candle Clear shaped light bulbs of 25 Watts. This is included in the price.
This lamp has been newly rewired with new materials. It has new gold tone silk cable, new black cord switch, and a new black plug (UK Plug up to 250V).
This antique lamp is in very good condition. The frame is sound, the brass surfaces have some antique patina and a couple of tiny dents in line with age. The vintage lampshade is in good condition with no cuts or damages and only a few light age stains on the inside.

Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport the base would be wrapped separately from the shade, both in bubble wrap, foam and an outer layer of card. Together these parts would easily fit into a box with loose fill packing nuts, safe for posting with a courier.
