Venini pendant light with gold iridescent glass rods on a brass frame, 1950īs ca, Italy.
This very large Atomic shaped vintage pendant chandelier is of exceptional quality and condition. Ideal for a Modernist, Minimalist or contemporary setting. It consists of thirty-six glass rods in
iridescent
gold colour radiating from a solid brass circular frame. The result is an ethereal glass sculpture which is
attributed to Italian manufacturer Venini. Each glass rod has a diameter of 1.5 cm and all are original and in excellent condition. The glass rods can be accessed by lifting the circular top brass plate where underneath, each one is numbered and screwed in place with a brass nut.
Inside, the polished brass plate remains with the original antique patina for authenticity & character. This patina could easily be rubbed to a polished brass if preferred. From this round plate there are six brass arms coated with the same iridescent Venini glass leading to six solid brass lamp holders. Takes 6 large screw (E27) light bulbs up to 60 Watts each. Presently fitted & photographed with clear Golf shape light bulbs but could take other light bulb shapes for a different look, such as Crown Gold light bulbs. The pendant carries the original vintage brass chain that can be easily shortened or lengthened. At the top of the chain there is the original brass ceiling cup which has inside, at the top of the bar, an S hook to fit the chandelier to the ceiling. For safe transport all the glass pieces are easily removable. The chain can be folded and each glass rod individually wrapped. Newly rewired, in full working order and ready to use.
Dimensions of the frame only (without the chain) Height 31 cm, Diameter 63 cm.
Length of the chain is 61 cm.
