Trifari Lucite Jelly Belly vintage fish pin gold gilt by Norman Bel Geddes, 1940`s ca, USA. Rhinestones fill the fin and tail. The head, sail fin and tail are gold gilt. A blue glass bullet cabachon eye is the finishing touch. Stamped Trifari with the crown over the `T` on clip & Des Patent No 129165 on sail fin. The original design for this brooch was patented in 1941 for Trifari by Norman Bel Geddes. Because of the materials and early mark this is likely a late 1940`s piece. This brooch is on page 114 `Fun Jewelry` and page 117 Judith Miller (2010). In good condition in line with age, on the fourth spine of his main fin there is a slight pressed mark. Attractive rubbing of the surface gold to reveal the silver metal underneath. Gift box included.
