Stilnovo brass chandelier (attributed) with 8 opaline glass shades, 1950`s ca, Italy.
This 1950 brass chandelier consists of eight brass arms curving elegantly from a central brass rod. Each arm leads to a satin finish white opaline glass shade set in a brass tripod prong with staggered arms. The frame is in solid brass with quality detailing. All the 8 shades are the original, in excellent condition and easily removable. On the under surface the arms gather and finished with a texturised taupe colour cap with a brass detail. At the top of the piece there is the original solid brass ceiling cap. This vintage 1950 chandelier carries 8 small screw standard light bulbs (E14) up to 40 watts each. At present photographed with 15 Watts clear Pygmy shape bulbs, easily available at any electrical shop. Equally it is possible to use other shaped light bulbs such as candle or golf. The pendant rod can be made shorter or replaced with a longer bar or chain. The rod can be unscrewed from the frame and the shades individually wrapped to pack this chandelier in a box for safe transport. The brass frame is in very good condition with some age patina in line with age giving character. Newly rewired, in full working order and ready to use.
The dimensions of the brass frame without the rod are - Height 27 cm, Width 80 cm & Depth 80 cm.
The brass rod alone is 55 cm long.
Each glass shade has the following dimensions - Height: 23 cm, Width: 8 cm & Depth 8 cm.
