Sciolari wall lights with brass frames in the Neoclassical style, a pair, 1960`s ca, Italian.

These wall lights have been gently cleaned while respecting the vintage patina. They are newly rewired & earthed, fully working, PAT tested by an electrician and ready to install. Each sconce has new lamp holders  and is finished with a removable new clip-on black silk lampshade. This is lined gold metallic and edged with a black fabric trim . Light bulbs are included. These lights can be use with a dimmer. It is possible to use these lights in other countries although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity.

These elegant pair of wall lights by Gaetano Sciolari are a reinterpretation of the traditional Neoclassical style sconce. Key design features such as the swag & scroll form are kept simple for a Modern clean look. This design would suit a range of interiors such as Antique, Traditional, Hollywood Regency, Post Modern, or Contemporary.

At the centre of each frame there is a brass cartouche body in satin brass surrounded by a beaded trim with a polished finish. At the top of the trim there is an elongated bow. The bottom is finished with a tassel detail. The contrast between the satin & polished brass finishes leads to different reflections.

From this cartouche base spreads out 2 scrolling arms in polished brass. These rise slightly upwards in a candelabra like form. The bottom portion of each arm holds a lamp holder. Each has a brass candle cover with textured fluting. Following this textured pattern there is a bun shaped bobeche contrasted by 2 two break necks in polished brass. This is finished with a tassel finial. Contrasting textures between the vertical fluting against the polished brass creates different reflections.

To fit the frame to the wall there is a metal plate on the back. This has 2 holes to screw to the wall.

Each light is finished with a removable new clip-on black silk lampshade, finished with black fabric trim and metallic gold lining.

Each wall light carries 2 standard small screw light bulbs E14 up to 40 Watts. At present these lights are fitted & photographed with Candle Clear shaped light bulbs of 25 Watts. These are included in the price.

This pair of sconces is in very good condition. The frames are quality cast and have a good weight. The brass is in excellent condition, with a light patina in line with age. The lampshades are new and also in excellent condition.

These vintage lights would have originally carried the yellow "Sciolari Roma 1892" label. An example is photographed. This is now missing, none of these lights have this sticker.

We have available in stock 2 pairs, and the set of 4 lights together is featured on this site as   item # 11109.
