Sciolari ceiling light set of 4 for Boulanger, 1970`s ca, Belgium.
All 4 lights have been thoroughly cleaned, newly rewired, in full working order and ready to install.
These Modernist sculptural ceiling/wall lights by Gaetano Sciolari for Boulanger are elegantly simple with the combination of brass & metallic black finishes. Flush mounted, each is composed of a brass plated round base with 6 tubes in metallic black staggered for a sculptural effect. The metallic ‘black’ in some lights appears like a warm dark bronze tone.
These lights could be fitted either to the ceiling or as wall lights, in different combinations.
Each light has a separate round metal bracket which screws through 3 holes to the ceiling or wall. In the centre the main external brass plated frame has a hole that screws to the bracket with a decorative cylinder shape screw in the same metallic black tone. Each light bracket has the original S A Boulanger maker`s label on the back.
Each light takes 6 standard small screw (E14) light bulbs up to 40 Watts each. To show how different looks could be achieved they have been photographed with Pygmy clear E14 15 Watts light bulbs for a minimal look or with Golden Crown E14 light bulbs for a Pop look. Both types of light bulbs are easily available from an electrical shop.
All 4 lights are in very good condition, with only minor signs of wear on the brass finish in line with age but no damages. Two frames have slightly more wear on the edges to the brass plated frame. There are subtle differences in the tone of the brass plated frame.
The 4 lights are for sale together at £ 550. Alternatively a pair is £ 350 (for the pair). Pygmy light bulbs are included.
