This Gaetano Sciolari vintage sculptural chandelier fascinates from all directions with its 15 crystal shards staggered amongst the lights and gold tone metal. This chandelier has a sophisticated highly polished gold gilt & satin brass finishes. The elegant & clever combination of both satin & polished surfaces adds depth to the design.
This sculptural chandelier has a quality frame consisting of a central tubular column in brushed brass with a gold gilt band detail in the middle and a gold gilt cap at the bottom. From the main central column, there are 3 tiers.
The bottom tier has 6 slender square-shaped arms in polished gold gilt. Each arm finishes with a geometric polished holder in which safely clips a removable crystal shard. The quality crystal shards are shaped with two different widths so they fit safely in place.
The second tier is the largest with 6 arms in a wide square section of polished gold gilt. Each of these arms terminates in a tubular column with a lamp holder at the top. The tubular columns are of brushed brass and are finished with a round polished gold cap to the bottom. Sequenced in between these 6 columns there are 6 crystal shards. Together the lamp holders and crystal shards are connected by a thick geometric polished gold band encircling the chandelier in a `Chevron` pattern. The effect is one of fluid movement.
The top third tier has the same sequence as the second, but it is smaller, with 3 lamp holders and 3 crystal shards.
This chandelier takes 9 standard small screw light bulbs (E14) up to 40 Watts each. Presently fitted & photographed with clear 15 Watt Pygmy shaped light bulbs. These are included in the price and available at any lighting shop. Alternatively this chandelier could take other bulb shapes of the same fitting for a different look.
The gold plated pendant rod can be easily unscrewed from the top of the main frame to shorten or replace with a longer bar or chain if needed. At the top of the rod there is the original gold plated ceiling cup which has inside, at the top of the bar, an S hook to fit the chandelier to the ceiling.
Packing is offered free of charge. For safe transport, all the glass pieces will be removed and individually wrapped. If necessary the pendant bar can be unscrewed from the frame so this chandelier fits within a box.
All the 15 crystal shards are in very good condition. The frame is sound and in very good condition with only some patina & tiny marks on the gold gilt mostly on the upper side of the arms as would be expected with age.

Height of the frame only (without the rod) is 48 cm.
Diameter of the frame is 57 cm.
Each crystal shard has a length of 25 cm and width of 3 cm.
