Sciolari brass chandelier, `Chevron` sculptural brass frame with crystal shards, 1970´s ca, Italy.

This Gaetano Sciolari vintage sculptural chandelier fascinates from all directions with its twenty crystal glass shards staggered amongst the lights and brass banding. An elegant & clever combination of both satin & polished brass adds depth to the design. The quality frame consists of a central tubular column in satin brass with polished brass band in the middle and a polished brass cap at the bottom. From the main column there are three tiers. The bottom tier has eight slender rectangular arms in polished brass. Each arm finishes with a geometric brass holder in which safely clips a crystal shard. The quality crystal shards are shaped with two different widths so they fit safely in place. The second tier is the largest with eight arms in a wide square section of polished brass. Each of these arms terminates in a tubular column with a lamp holder at the top. The tubular columns are of satin brass and finished at the bottom with a polished brass cap. Sequenced in between these eight columns are eight crystal shards. Together the lampholders and crystal shards are connected by a thick geometric polished brass band encircling the chandelier in a Chevron pattern. The top tier has the same sequence but smaller with four lamp holders and four crystal shards. The chandelier takes 12 standard small screw light bulbs (E14) up to 40 Watts each. Presently fitted & photographed with clear 15 Watt Pygmy shaped light bulbs, but could take any other light bulb shape of the same fitting for a different look. The brass pendant rod can be easily unscrewed from the top of the main frame to shorten or replace with a longer bar or chain if needed. At the top of the rod there is the original brass ceiling cup which has inside, at the top of the bar, an S hook to fit the chandelier to the ceiling. For safe transport, all the glass pieces are removable. The pendant bar can be separated, and each crystal shard individually wrapped. Newly rewired, in full working order and ready to use. The frame and all crystal shards are in excellent condition with only minor wear at the top of the rod at the position of the ceiling cup.

Length of the rod is 33 cm.

Dimensions of the frame only (without the rod) is Height 50 cm, Diameter 66 cm.
