Original signed Romeo Rega pieces like this display coffee table are rare to find and very sought after. This type of display coffee table was designed by Romeo Rega in a range of sizes; this example at 100 cm width was the largest.
The Neoclassical chrome frame has rational proportions detailed with solid brass. The result is a practical yet luxurious piece well suited for a range of decors such as Art Deco, 1970`s Glamour, Minimalist, Industrial, Traditional or Contemporary.

The square chrome frame consists of an upper & lower glass surrounded by a decorative polished solid brass trim. This trim has two levels; the upper is decorative and the lower level suspends the glass adding a sense of depth to the design. Both clear glass tops are 8 mm thick.
The square top with glass insert slides smoothly to one side for access to the display area below. The top is secured in place by two hidden guides behind a solid brass trim. The two glass tops are removable as is the top chrome frame.
The 4 vertical side panels are clear Lucite secured in place by an horizontal solid brass frame at the top & bottom giving strength to the composition. This is a quality detail characteristic of Romeo Rega pieces.
The four main polished chrome legs are of square section. The inside surface of the chrome legs have a decorative solid brass trim. At one side of the frame the brass leg trim is stamped with `Romeo Rega` and the logo above.
All the glass surfaces are in very good condition with no chips or damages. The chrome & brass frame is in very good condition with vintage patina & superficial rubbing in line with age adding character. The 4 Lucite panels are all original and in good condition, with only a tiny mark around one of the screws although this is hardly visible.
Packing is offered free of charge. For safe transport the glass tops would be removed and wrapped in bubble wrap with an outer layer of card. The frame would be wrapped in bubble wrap & an outer layer of card.

Romeo Rega Design History
The Romeo Rega trademark as stamped on this table was first used on December 31,1969. In 1981 the Company ceased production making signed pieces rare and very valuable.
