Romeo Rega Lucite & brass table lamp, 1970`s ca, Italian.
This lamp has been thoroughly cleaned respecting the vintage patina. Newly rewired & earthed with new brass lamp holder, gold toned silk cable, new plug and new black cord switch. This table lamp is ready to use.
This Modernist table lamp comes from a private home in Rome. It is attributed to Romeo Rega as it has many of the characteristics of his designs although not signed.
Standing like a Skyscraper the base has design references to the earlier Art Deco period. The combination of materials, polished brass with the clear & black Lucite and the pagoda shade in the same colours create a strong sculptural piece.
This smart lamp is a nice complement for a console table, side table, desk or a sideboard. It would suit a range of interiors such as Art Deco, Modernist, Minimalist, Hollywood Regency, 70`s Glamour, Traditional or Contemporary.
At the focal point there is a vertical rectangular black gloss Lucite section framed by polished brass and outer edges of clear Lucite. This stands on a stepped plinth base of Lucite, solid brass & black perspex.
From the top of the sculptural base there is a decorative brass column leading the transition to the lamp holder. At this point screws on the lamp shade, a black leatherette gold lined pagoda lamp shade which is original. Running along the top & bottom of the shade there is gold cord trim.
This lamp takes 1 standard big screw E27 light bulb up to 40 Watts which is included in this price.
The lamp is in very good condition for its age. The base is in very good condition with no scratches. The brass surface retains the original lacquer and has only minor patina in a couple of places. The shade is in very good condition with superficial wear in line with age. There is only a tiny cut on the shade which has been sympathetically restored.
Packing is offered free of charge. The lamp shade would be wrapped separately in bubble wrap and an outer layer of card. The base would be wrapped in bubble wrap and if necessary an outer layer of card. These parts could fit in a box for safe & easy posting.

The lampshade alone has the dimensions: Height: 25.5 cm, Width: 35 cm, Depth: 25 cm.
