Palm tree wall light, crystal beads on a brass frame by Palwa Lighting, 1970`s ca, German.

This wall light has been gently cleaned while respecting the vintage patina. It is newly rewired & earthed, PAT tested by an electrician, fully working and ready to install. Light bulbs are included. This light can be use with a dimmer and it can be used in other countries although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity.

Palwa Lighting is well known for the quality of the crystals and originality of design. This playful design is a large sculptural palm tree at over a metre tall, executed in luxurious materials; crystal & brass. This light would make a statement piece for a range of interiors such as Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, 70`s Glamour, Traditional or Contemporary.

It consists of two parts, the sculptural palm tree on an oval brass base.

The large main frame of the palm tree sculpture has a long trunk with a crown of 9 leaves.

Each leaf is decorated with over 100 hand polished faceted clear crystals. In total there are nearly 1000 crystals. The structure of the leaf is a grid of brass on the backside. Each crystal is held within the grid by brass wire knotted at each junction of the grid. The outlining of the leaf is a textured brass trim. The full crown of leaves is removable and bolted on the reverse side to the trunk in three places.

The base that attaches to the wall is an oval plate in polished brass. It has 7 lamp holders with polished brass lamp holder covers. There are 2 holes through which this plate is screwed to the wall.

On the reverse side of the palm sculpture there is an oval tubular frame which connects with the wall plate. Once the back plate is screwed to the wall, the oval tubular frame hooks on it, held safely in place by 2 vertical brass pegs on the topside of the back plate.

This wall light carries 7 standard small screw light bulbs (E14) up to 40 Watts each. At present fitted & photographed with Pygmy Clear shaped light bulbs of 25 Watts. These are included in the price. It is possible to use any other E14 bulb shapes.

This vintage light is in very good condition. The frame is sound with no damages and the brass in very good condition. All the crystals are the original vintage, present and in very good condition with no chips.

Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care in packing. For safe transport the sculpture will be removed & packed separately from the base. Each will be wrapped in a layer of bubble wrap & soft card. Together these would fit into a box with loose fill packing peanuts ideal for safe posting.

Additional dimensions:

Dimensions of the brass plate that attaches to the wall are: Height: 27, Width: 22.5 cm, Depth: 1.8 cm.
