Palm tree mirror attributed to Vivai del Sud Interiors of Italy. Silver toned & smoked mirror with brass detailing and a wood frame 1970`s ca, Italian.
This vintage mirror has been thoroughly cleaned while respecting the aged patina and is ready to use.
Like a Mediterranean window this large decorative wall mirror has two arches with a palm tree outline in the centre. The palm leaves are represented in silver toned mirror against grey smoked mirror in the background. The main mirror surface is of typical silver tone.
Sculptural, elegant and practical this mirror would complement a range of interiors such as Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, 70`s Glamour, Postmodern, Traditional and Contemporary.
Looking in detail at the composition, the tree form is outlined with a thin brass tubular trim. Each leaf of the palm tree is composed by a bevelled mirrored and a surrounding brass trim. This trim is also used between the mirror & the wood frame. At the centre of the mirror, where the canopy of leaves rise, there is a decorative sculptural brass cup. This cup has a hand beaten texture nicely aged over time.
All the mirror sections are bevelled. This bevelling combined with the brass detailed trim, layering, and the two tone mirror, create a sense of depth, perfect for the `window` concept.
The wood frame has a silver gilt paint effect and repeats in design the bevelling composition of the glass. The back of the mirror is nicely finished in wood. There is a bracket at the back safely screwed in place. This will securely slide on an `L` hook on the wall which is also provided.
This mirror is in excellent condition. The brass & mirror surfaces are in good condition. There is some age related fading in areas of the mirror surface & patina on the brass adding character & authenticity. There are no chips or cracks on the mirror.

For safe transport the mirror would be wrapped in bubble wrap with an outer layer of card/foam and boxed. This mirror could be safely transported with a courier such as Fedex.
