Pair vintage wall brackets shelves, in cast bronze Papyrus motif, 1950`s ca, French

These items have been gently cleaned while respecting the vintage patina and are ready to use.

Good size wall brackets, ideal to display a collection of glass items, china or small sculptures.

The elegant & simple Modernist reinterpretation of the Egyptian Revival style of these brackets would suit a range of interiors such as Antique, Traditional, Hollywood Regency, Post Modern, or Contemporary.

Each bracket is quality cast in gilt bronze and has two holes at the back to hook safely to the wall.

The top portion of the shelf is of concave shape and has a brass galleried top, very useful to display items safely.

The middle & bottom portion of the bracket is very decorative but simple at the same time, in a Modernist reinterpretation of
the Egyptian Papyrus capital column of bundled papyrus stalks, palmettes and closed buds.

Both brackets are in very good vintage condition. They are sound with no cracks. The original warm vintage patina is present adding character, with minor superficial marks in line with age and wear.

They sell together and the price is for the pair.

Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care with packing. For safe transport the brackets will be wrapped separately in bubble wrap and an outer layer of card.Together these pieces would easily fit into a box with loose fill packing suitable for posting with a courier.

EGYPTIAN REVIVAL DESIGN

The Egyptian Revival flourished during the period 1820-1850, and was used in architecture initially for memorials, cemeteries, and official commemorative buildings. The Egyptian Revival made a comeback during the  1920`s  with the Art Deco Style and the fascination with the discovery of King  Tutankhamun`s tomb  in 1922.
