Pair of vintage `Orchid` brass table lamps by Massive Lighting, 1970`s ca, Belgian.
These lamps have been thoroughly cleaned respecting the vintage patina. Newly rewired & earthed with new brass lamp holder, gold toned silk cable, new black plug & cord switch. They are ready to use.
The sculptural organic shape and quality casting make for a sweet & elegant pair of lamps. These table lamps would suit a range of decors such as Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, 70`s Glamour, Traditional & Contemporary.
Each lamp consists of a group of 3 orchid flowers and 2 tiers of 3 leaves emerging from a conic pedestal base. The base is decorated with an elongated leaf pattern. Each tier of leaves have a different shape & texture adding to the detail of the composition. The 3 elongated stems curve upwards finishing with a detailed orchid flower.
At the centre of the floral composition there is a fluted column leading up to the brass cover & lamp holder.
These vintage lamps have been finished with a later black shade. This has a fabric trim & gold lining which reflects a warm light.
Each lamp carries a new standard small screw (E14) light bulb up to 40 Watts. At present fitted & photographed with E14 Candle clear 40 Watts light bulbs, that are included in the price.
They sell together, the price is for the pair.
Both lamps are in very good condition. The bases have the original antique patina on the gilt metal surface adding character. The shades are in very good condition with no cuts or damages, only rubbing in a couple of places.

Massive Lighting was known for high quality and original designs which vary between Classic and Modernist styles. In 2008 the company became part of Phillips Corporation.
