Orrefors wall lights, brass & glass by Carl Fagerlund, 1960`s ca, Swedish.
These wall lights have been thoroughly cleaned respecting the vintage patina. They are newly rewired & earthed, in full working order and ready to install. Light bulbs included.
It is possible to install these lights in other countries although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity.
They
be used with a dimmer.
This vintage pair of wall lights are attributed to Carl Fagerlund who designed for Swedish manufacturer Orrefors Lighting. The form is an elegant and playful composition in quality solid brass with a large glass sculptural leaf characteristic of the designs by Fagerlund.
With their classic Neoclassical form, these lights are reminiscent of the earlier Art Deco period. This pair have a Modernist 60`s twist in the design with the elongated brass segments & textured glass shades in a gold tone with a subtle lustre finish.
Each frame is composed by a round brass base from which curves upwards a brass arm of rectangular section holding the glass shade. The removable glass shade is securely fitted internally to the arm; two decorative brass bolts attach to the two threads.
There are some decorative details on the frame such as the brass ring on the junction between the base and the arm. Each lamp holder sits on the arm facing upwards and has a decorative cylindrical shape solid brass tube cover.
The sculptural clear glass shades are shaped with a textured leaf pattern. The shade is indented in the centre to `rest` on the brass arm giving this piece volume. The upper edge of the glass leaf curves slightly outwards to finish the design. The glass shades have an external gloss lustre finish. Internally there is a layer of sparkling specks of crystal shards creating depth & great reflections.
Each wall light carries one standard small screw light bulb E14 up to 60 Watts each. At present fitted with Candle Clear light bulbs 40 watts (as photographed), which are included in the price.
To attach each light to the wall, there is a hidden removable bracket inside the base. This bracket screws by 2 holes on both sides to the frame. The bracket has 2 holes to fit to the wall.
The original manufacturer paper label is inside the frame, on the bracket.
Both glass leaves are in very good condition. The polished brass frames have the original clear lacquer in very good condition with a warm patina character.
These wall lights sell together, and this price is for the pair.
Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport the glass shades would be removed and individually wrapped as would the brass bases. Together these pieces would fit nicely into a box for shipping.
