Nest of brass tables by
Guy Lefèvre
for Maison Jansen, set of 3, 1970`s ca, French.
This nest of 3 tables has been thoroughly cleaned respecting the original antique patina and are ready to use.
This nest is very sculptural when stacked together as well as individually. When separated each Minimalist cuboid frame can be appreciated. A rare shape in this type of table as most common they are rectangular. The result is elegant, clean and architectural. When all 3 tables are positioned together, inside each other, the result is an interesting sculptural cube. This set would make a practical side/coffee table which would suit all interior schemes.
Structurally these tables have a continuous solid brass frame with seamless joints & corners. The top flows into the legs which in turn are connected horizontally to define another side of the cuboid. These design details along with the solid brass are indicative of quality manufacturing characteristic of Guy Lefèvre designs.
The original vintage glass tops are tinted emerald green which complements the colour of the brass. The removable glass tops fit within the top of each frame, suspended on brass pegs covered in clear rubber pads. The glass tops appear to float which contributes to the clean design.
These tables are all in very good condition. The solid brass frames are sound and strong, without damages. The original clear lacquer is present on the surface of the brass with only tiny marks in line with age & wear.
