Maitland Smith tessellated travertine & brass inlay console, 1970`s ca, American.

This console table has been thoroughly cleaned respecting the vintage patina. It is ready to use.

Art Deco inspired, this 1970`s demilune console table is elegant in both its Neoclassical form and the quality craftsmanship.

The textured tessellated travertine is reminiscent of furniture from the Deco period. The quality craftsmanship can be appreciated by looking at the inlaid travertine & solid brass segments.

This combination of elegant materials make this piece well suited for a range of Interiors such as Art Deco, Modernist, Minimalist, Hollywood Regency, 1970`s Glamour, Antique or Contemporary.

The demilune top is a radiating sunburst, tessellated with creamy fossilised travertine. Solid brass inlay outlines the sun & its rays as well as the table top edge. This brass detailing & pattern make this vintage console quite unique. The top is securely attached to the base.

The matching semicircular base has a plano-concave form. Long lines of inlaid solid brass exaggerate the curves of the base and add depth & reflections. A matching solid brass trim decorates the base as well as offering protection.

The reverse flat back side of this console is also tessellated, a sign of quality, so this table can be freestanding & viewed from all sides.

This table is very stable & strong although not too heavy to move.

This vintage piece is in exceptionally good condition with no damages on the brass or travertine. It has an attractive antique patina in line with age.

Packing is offered free of charge. The frame would be wrapped in light foam & bubble wrap and if necessary a second layer of card for safe travel.

Additional Dimensions:

The base has a Height of 69 cm, and a Diameter of 36 cm.
