Maison Bagues nesting tables brass bamboo & bronze trimmed mirror, 1950`s ca, French

These tables have been thoroughly cleaned while respecting the vintage patina and they are ready to use.

The Naturalistic bamboo effect, together with Neoclassical & Modernist features executed in solid brass, suggest these tables could be from Maison Bagues of Paris, the attributed designer.

The delicate proportions, elegant lines, and repeated geometric forms such as the mirrored trimmed glass are Neoclassical references.

The sculptural geometric dice effect decorative corners are Modernist references.

Elegant in design, materials & detail, these tables are also very practical. They would suit a range of interiors such as Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Glamour, Industrial, Traditional or Contemporary.

Structurally each table has a solid polished brass bamboo effect frame and the original removable vintage smoked glass top with bronze tinted mirrored trim.

A quality decorative faux bamboo effect is present on the solid polished brass frames. The frames are composed of tubular vertical and horizontal segments of slender delicate proportions and quality casting.

The nest is of generous proportions and is composed of two rectangular tables and a square table.

Additional naturalistic details such as nodes along the frame, combined with a decorative solid brass Modernist detail in the shape of a dice at each corner, makes this nesting tables very sculptural, and give texture & depth to the design.

The quality glass top is 5 mm and the mirrored trim is 3.5 cm wide.  The 3 original vintage removable mirrored tops sit on a decorative circular tubular brass plate at each corner.
The two rectangular tables (large & medium) have brass stretchers on 3 sides , while the smaller square one has on four sides, which make these tables very strong structurally and stable.
There  is a clever repetition of the dice effect detail at each corner between the legs and stretchers unifying the design.

When stacked together these tables make an interesting geometric pattern. The contrast between the glass in a bronze tone and the golden frames make these tables very chic.

The legs terminate at the bottom with the original black rubber stoppers to protect the floor.

These vintage nesting tables is in very good condition. The frames are sound. The polished brass retains the original clear lacquered finish with an, antique patina developed over the years in areas adding character and a warm tone, as shown in close ups. As the glass tops are the original vintage ones, there is minor superficial wear in small areas on the top sides, and in the back of the silver mirrored trim in line with age & use, but no chips or cracks.

Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing.  These tables are well suited also for export. For safe transport the mirror tops would be wrapped individually in bubble wrap and an outer layer of card. The frames would be bubble wrapped and if necessary an out of layer of card. These tables could fit safely in a box and easily posted.
