Limburg glass pair of wall lights, tulip shaped shade on a brass base, 1970`s ca, German.

Both lights have been thoroughly cleaned respecting the vintage patina; newly rewired & earthed, in full working order & ready to install. Light bulbs included.

These sculptural lamps with their sweet tulip shape would make a decorative feature for a range of interior schemes such as Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, 70`s Glamour, Traditional or Contemporary.

Designed as wall lights with the original string switch they could also work as ceiling lights.

At the focal point of each light are the speckled shades; 6 petals curving with a centre spine & bracket shaped edge. The handmade quality thick glass is clear with speckles inside giving texture which fades towards the edges.

Beneath the glass shade is the solid brass round base. It is bell-shaped and highly polished to reflect the light.

These lights disassemble easily to fit to the wall or ceiling. There are five parts: the glass shade, the brass finial, the brass base, a gold toned frame and lamp holder. The light is assembled by screwing these parts together.

The lamp holder has a metal bracket to fit the light to the wall. This bracket attaches to the wall screwed through two holes on the back of the plate.

The polished brass base fits through the lamp holder and covers the metal bracket. The base is secured in place by the gold toned frame.

The glass shade covers the both the lamp holder & frame. The shade is held in place with a decorative solid brass washer & finial.

Dangling from the brass base there is the original string cord switch finished with a Lucite diamante. This can be removed if preferred.

Each light takes one standard (E14) small screw light bulb up to 40 Watts. Presently fitted & photographed with 25 Watts clear Candle light bulbs which are included in this price. Other E14 light bulbs can fit inside these lights for a different look. These lights can work with a dimmer switch on the mains.

Underneath each brass base there is the original maker`s label.

These lights are in very good condition. Both glass shades are in excellent condition. Both solid brass frames have the original clear lacquer present on the brass.

Packing is offered free of charge. For safe transport, the glass pieces would be removed and individually wrapped in a layer of bubble wrap & soft cardboard. The frame would be wrapped in bubble wrap. Together these parts would  easily fit into a box ideal for posting.

Additional dimensions:
The diameter of the brass base only is 16 cm.
