HAR vintage Dragon hinged-clamper bangle bracelet & earrings, 1959, New York. The Dragon`s head predominates this bracelet which is encrusted with ‘aurora borealis’ rhinestones and ‘lava rocks’ in various shapes, sizes and colours of green & purple to enhance the exotic nature of this highly sculptural piece . The ‘aurora borealis’ or ‘lava rocks’ are unique to HAR and reflect different shades of blue, green & purple with every movement.  On this piece there are two large stones. The white enamelled metal has fine detail and is in excellent condition with an antiqued wash that allows the highly textured metal to shine through. The earrings are clip on and can be converted for pierced ears. This is an eye-catching conversation piece and exciting to wear. Since HAR manufactured jewellery for a brief period, their production was limited and when found in good vintage condition, is highly collectible, valuable and rare. Stamped HAR with copyright C on the tail. One earring is also stamped. The copyright for this piece was given in April 1959.

This set is featured in several reference books including Judith Miller`s book "Costume Jewellery", Marcia "Sparkles" Brown`s book  "Signed Beauties of Costume Jewellery", Jacqueline Rehmann`s book "Classic American Costume Jewellery".
