Belgo Chrome was known for its handsome clean designs in hot metals & mirror. This vintage coffee table is iconic of their designs, plated in 23 karat gold and a slick sepia toned glass top with a mirrored trim.
Finished in an attractive & elegant softer gold tone, this table is an alternative to yellow gold or chrome.
The minimal form and warm metallic tones make this table suitable for a range of interiors schemes such as Art Deco, Modernist, Minimalist, Industrial, Traditional or Contemporary.
Structurally the frame has Neoclassical proportions pared down. The rectangular top & sides are made up of tubing with rectangular profile. The top predominates with the legs slightly recessed and the lower shelf further recessed. The edging of the tubular frame enhances this form in a simple way. The rubbing to the gilt on the edges further adds to this effect.
The 2 smoked glass tops are sepia brown and have a mirrored bronze border 7 cm wide. The border further emphasizes the simple rectangular theme repeated in this design.
The original vintage removable glass tops are of great quality, both at 8 mm thick. They sit within the rectangular frame securely on an triangular metal edge support, making this table very stable.
This vintage coffee table is in very good condition. There is some rubbing to the gilt over time in line with age, which adds character and emphasizes the lines of the design. Both glass tops are in excellent condition with no chips or damages. All the original plastic stoppers are present.
Packing if offered free of charge.
We take special professional care while packing. The glass tops would be removed and wrapped separately in bubble wrap and an outer layer of card. The frame would have bubble wrap and an outer layer of card if necessary.
