Gianni Songia sofa daybed "GS 195", designed for Sormani, 1963, Italy. T his daybed dates from the late 70`s. It consists of a large sculptural lacquered rosewood veneer wooden frame with internal removable metal frame and mocha quality leather upholstery. The comfortable 3 seater sofa transforms into a daybed by moving the backrest in a 360 degree movement. The backrest can also be adjusted in different positions to increase the depth of the seating area. The original mocha leather cushions on the seat and backrest all unzip and can be removed. Great quality detailed stitching all around. The sofa rests on two sculptural feet creating a `lightness` feel. The frame and all leather upholstery are in very good condition with very minor wear in line with age.
