French Art Deco glass cased & bronze floor lamp with original red lamp shade lined with gold, 1940`s ca.
This vintage floor lamp has been thoroughly cleaned and is ready to use. It has been newly rewired with gold colour silk cable, a new brass lamp holder and new plug. It has a vintage switch on the cable.
This traditional French 1940`s floor lamp is sculptural with its feminine ballister form. The handblown clear glass balls give the sculptural form a light appearance and sits in contrast to the solid bronze details. The original red glossy lampshade finishes the piece.
The style & materials of this lamp would suit a range of interiors such as Traditional, Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, Industrial & Contemporary.
In the centre of the ballister colum there is a bronze ball etched with a stylised Art Deco floral pattern. On either side of this, there are glass sections spaced out with decorative bronze caps. The entire piece is held together in the centre with a bronze cylinder which runs the full length of the lamp adding strenght & stability.
Looking at the bottom of the lamp there is a tripod base of 3 bronze metal feet. The feet are detailed with a leaf pattern, scalloped edging and curving upwards to finish the design.
At the top of the lamp there is the original vintage red lamp shade with a gloss finish. The removable shade has a gold trim at the top and in the bottom portion a fabric trim of gold & black which repeats the pattern of the bronse ball in the column. Inside the lamp shade is lined with metalic gold paper to cast a warm glow. The lamp shade is held in place between 2 screw washers which are part of the lamp holder.
This floor lamp takes 1 standard big screw light bulb (E27) up to 100 Watts. Light bulb included.
This lamp is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks to the glass. The original lampshade is in very good condition for its age with minor marks.
Packing is offered free of charge. The lamp shade would be removed, wrapped separately and placed in a box. The frame would have bubble wrap, card and an outer layer of stretch wrap. If necessary this frame could be placed inside a box.
