Franz Hagenauer sculpture (attributed) brass fish table lamp, 1970`s ca, Austria.
Thoroughly cleaned, newly
rewired
and fully working with a new brass lamp holder, gold silk cord and a cable switch.
This quality brass modernist casting of a marlin shark is in the manner of Franz Hagenauer who is the attributed sculptor. The marlin appears to be in motion, jumping out of the water from a wave, all in brass on a black lacquered wooden plinth base. The modernist form is completed with the circular cut-out at the centre which adds to the simplicity and sense of movement. Simple details are etched into the brass to make the fish stand out from the rest of the sculpture.
Behind the sculpture there is a brass rod leading to the lamp holder which carries one standard (E27) big screw light bulb up to 60 Watts. On top of this lamp there is the original vintage black patent leather pagoda shaped lamp shade with a gold lining to reflect a warm tone. The lampshade is trimmed with black fabric. The brass sculpture, lacquered base and shade are in very good condition, with attractive age related patina which adds character.
Light bulb included.
The total height with the shade is 62 cm.
The height of the sculpture alone is 30 cm.
The black lacquered base has a width of 28 cm and a depth of 16 cm.
The lamp shade has the following dimensions: height: 26 cm, width: 35 cm, depth: 25 cm.
