Vintage Florentine tole Banci Firenze style flush ceiling light, gold gilt foliate & wheat with glass tulip flowers,1950`s ca, Italian.

This vintage ceiling light has been gently cleaned while respecting the aged patina. It is newly rewired & earthed, PAT tested by an electrician and ready to install. It has the following new components: E14 brass lamp holders. Lightbulbs included. This light can be used with a dimmer. It is possible to use this light in other countries although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity.

This gold gilt Florentine tole ceiling light with glass flowers is attributed to Banci Firenze of Italy. Banci is a well established manufacturer of luxury lighting since 1899, well known for its quality Florentine Tole craftsmanship.

With the luxurious materials & sculptural presence, this light would suit a range of interiors such as Antique, Traditional, Country, Hollywood Regency, or Contemporary.

It is quality handmade in thick metal with great attention to detail & heavy weight.

The sun pattern design consist of six arms: 3 long stems formed by foliate leading to a flower alternating with 3 long stems with a foliate & wheat decoration. All with great sinuous movement & whiplash lines.

The metal frame has a combination of gilt & painted surfaces. It is gilded mostly on the underside to reflect the light. Painted in a textured sage green finish above. These tones are also present on the removable central rosette. This rosette has a foliate decoration and screws by a decorative round gilt metal finial to a metal backplate. The backplate has 2 holes to fit the light to the ceiling.

The removable glass flower shades in the shape of stylised tulips are of great quality, each one made with two layers of glass: a satin creamy finish with black & yellow enamel lines on the outside & a white gloss finish inside.

Within the glass flower sits the new brass lampholder. Each shade is screwed in place to the lamp holder by a brass ring.

Each lampholder carries one E 14 standard small screw light bulb up to 40 Watts. At present fitted and photographed with clear Pygmy light bulbs of 25 Watts, which are included in the price. Alternatively it is possible to use any other E 14 light bulb shapes, such as Candle or Golf, for a different look.

This light is in very good vintage condition. The vintage patina has been preserved on the metal. The metal frame is sound  with no broken or missing parts. Minor marks & tiny loses to the paint & rubbing to the gilt adding character. The 3 glass shades are in very good condition with no cracks or chips and only minor marks & rubbing to the bottom trim in line with age & wear.
