Coro key brooch, sterling silver with gold gilt, 1940`s ca, American in Vintage Coro Jewelry from Roomscape

This Coro key pin features a faux opal at the center along with red, blue & green cabouchons. It is finished with pave set and baguette rhinestones.

This vintage Coro pin has an applied tag mark stamped `Sterling` and `Corocraft`, and an image of a Pegasus. In very good vintage condition. Gift box included.

The metal composition in this vintage Coro brooch is referred to as vermeil which is sterling silver coated with gold. To be considered vermeil, the gold must be at least 10 carat (42%) and at least 2.5 micrometres thick. Vermeil was used in the 1940`s when resources were limited and this is part of it`s appeal to collectors.

This pin is in good vintage condition, the metal surfaces with some vintage patina & minor rubbing in line with age & wear. The frame is sound and all rhinestones are present.
