Coro Lucite Jelly Belly vintage fish vermeil gold gilt sterling silver and rhinestones by Adolph Katz,1940`s ca, USA.  Gold washed sterling silver body decorated with rhinestones. Large applied tag mark stamped sterling Corocraft with the winged Pegasus. This is featured on pages 165 & 266 `American Costume Jewelry` by Brunialti and Brunialti and page 68 Judith Miller (2003). This pin was designed by Adolph Katz in 1942. Included is a 1949 Coro advert with a Jelly Belly fish pin. Gift box included.

Vermeil is sterling silver coated with gold. To be considered vermeil, the gold must be at least 10 carat (42%) and be at least 2.5 micrometres thick. Vermeil was used in the 1940`s when resources were limited and this is part of it`s appeal to collectors.

Adolph Katz was design director at Coro from 1924 and made major contributions to the company`s success in particular Jelly Bellies & Duettes.
