1970`s brass chandelier with glass shades by Limburg, Germany.
Thoroughly cleaned, newly rewired, in full working order and ready to install. Light bulbs included.
This large chandelier consists of a brass plate with 36 hanging clear glass shades arranged in a circular pattern; 6 shades hanging lower in the center, 12 shades hanging in the middle and 18 shades hanging higher around the outer edge.
This piece is an example of Limburg`s Modernist re-interpreted of the Art Deco tiered chandelier. Each individual glass shade column shaped with a six sided star at the base, all of which are the same size. In the center of the frame there are 7 hanging light bulbs which are staggered. Together these sculptural forms add depth & reflection.
The brass plate has four holes to screw the frame to the ceiling. Takes 7 E 27 standard big screw light bulbs up to 60 Watts each. Presently fitted with clear candle light bulbs but can take different shaped light bulbs to vary the look. All the glass shades have a brass top and are in excellent condition. The brass plate has some patina in line with age. Disassembles for easy transport.
The dimensions of each glass shade is Height 21 cm and Diameter 8 cm.
