Vintage brass magazine rack with smoked glass sides, Maison Bagues, 1960`s ca, French.

This item has been gently cleaned while respecting the vintage patina and is ready to use.

With its scrolling patterns & Modernist smoked glass, this Neoclassical magazine rack is light & elegant. Not only stylish it is also practical. It would make a super finishing touch to a range of interiors such as traditional, Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, 70`s Glamour, Shabby Chic, Traditional or Contemporary.

Structurally it is made of solid brass, several parts bolted together. The handle and sides have a scrolling pattern with each end having a decorative finial. At the bottom there are slender cabriole feet. On the inside compartment there is a flat solid polished brass surface where the magazine/books stand.

The 2 original vintage smoked bronze tone quality glass panels are fitted at each side in an angle, and suspended in decorative brass brackets. This design is classical, light & modern at the same time.

It is in very good condition & sturdy. The original clear lacquer is present on the brass surfaces, with a warm antique patina developed over the years and minor rubbing to a couple brass finials and tiny marks in line with age. The 2 glass panels are in very good condition with no cracks or chips.

Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. It would be wrapped securely in bubble wrap & an outer layer of card. It could easily fit in a box for safe transport with a courier or the post office.

We have in stock available on this site a complementary magazine rack to make an attractive decorative pair, same design but with green glass panels, see  item # 11049.

They sell together as a pair at £ 980, or each at £ 490
