Romeo Rega vintage coffee table, brass, chrome & glass, 1970`s ca, Italy.
This 1970`s coffee table has an elegant Modernist brass & chrome cross banded frame in alternate vertical and horizontal bands typical of Romeo Rega who is attributed as the designer. The complimentary combination of metals beautifully reflects light and the contrasting textures, polished chrome alongside brushed brass, creates texture. The hexagonal clear glass top which inserts horizontally at the top of each portion of the frame is
securely held in place
. The clever result is a glass top which appears to float above the sculptural base. The
cross band consists of two sections screwed together centrally underneath. Unscrewing this allows the pieces to separate and the glass to be removed for transport. All the metal frame and glass surface are in very good condition with a nice antique patina and only minor signs of wear in line with age. There are no chips on the glass or scratches on the metal frame.
The thickness of the glass top is: 0.8 cm.
