Murano art glass large flush light with a solid brass base by Hillebrand Lighting, 1970`s ca, German. The solid brass base is finished with an elegant polished effect.

Thoroughly cleaned respecting the vintage patina. Newly rewired, earthed, in full working order & ready to install. Light bulbs included. It is possible to install this light in other countries although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity. It can be used with a dimmer.

This large vintage light, by quality German manufacturer Hillebrand, was designed to work as either a ceiling or wall light hung vertically.

While this design by Hillebrand dates from the 1970`s, with the Brutalist ‘ice’ effect glass, the classical form is reminiscent of earlier Art Deco Lighting.

At the focal point there is a large handmade Murano glass shade. The quality glass alongside the brass gives this Minimalist design elegance. This light is ideal for a range of interiors such as Art Deco, Classical, Hollywood Regency, Minimalist or Contemporary, perfect for when a flush light is needed with low ceilings or as a large decorative feature on a wall.

The round glass shade has a swirling pattern of milky white & clear blown cased glass. It has been polished to a gloss finish on the external side. The result is a softly diffused light and lots of movement. The shade rises at the centre creating a convex shape.

The removable shade is secured to a large circular quality solid polished brass plate through 4 large decorative brass bolts. These bolts screw into individual vertical cylindrical solid brass columns extending from the brass base. The glass shade sits securely in place and is easily removed to gain access to change the light bulbs.

The base is screwed to the ceiling or wall through 4 holes on the main solid brass plate. Behind the main polished brass plate there is a secondary inner circular gilt metal plate with a vertical trim that attaches flush to the wall, adding strength and creating depth to the design.

This light Carries 3 standard E 14 small screw light bulbs up to 40 Watts each. At present fitted and photographed with 25 Watts clear Candle light bulbs, which are included in the price. The lamp holders are covered by decorative solid brass tubes.

This vintage flush light is in very good condition. The brass surfaces are sound with the original clear lacquer present and minor marks & patina in a few tiny places in line with age & wear. The glass shade is in good condition with no chips to the edges or cracks, and only minor wear around the holes, on the backside, where it screws to the base in line with age & wear.

Additional dimensions:

The diameter of the glass shade is 39 cm

The diameter of the solid polished brass base is 41 cm.

The diameter of the inner gilt metal portion of the base that attaches to wall/ceiling is 32 cm

Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport, the glass shade would be individually wrapped in a layer of bubble wrap and soft cardboard. Together with the base they would easily fit into a box with loose fill packing peanuts ideal fo r posting and shipping.

We have available in stock a complementary flush light of same design & dimensions but in satin brass, in case a pair is needed, please look at  item # 11083  on this site.
