Hillebrand Lighting, pair of flush lights with Brutalist Ice glass on a brass frame, 1970`s ca, German.

Often attributed to J.T.Kalmar this design was actually produced by Hillebrand Lighting of Germany. One of the bases in this pair has the original Hillebrand maker`s label.

This pair of lights have been thoroughly cleaned respecting the vintage patina. Both have been newly rewired and earthed, are in full working order & ready to install. Light bulbs included. It is possible to install these lights in other countries although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity. They can be used with a dimmer.

The Brutalist textured glass shades alongside the polished brass base give a strong & luxurious look. These vintage lights are a great option where an elegant flush light is needed. The style would work well in a range of interiors including Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, 70`s Glamour, Industrial & Contemporary.

On each light the square base is solid polished brass with 4 lights covered by removable clear glass sculptural shades imitating ice. A rhomboid column of brass rises from the centre of the base adding depth & reflections. Each clear glass shade locks safely to the metal lamp holder on the base by a metal ring that screws to the lamp holder. At the bottom where the shade attaches to the lamp holder there is a round decorative trim in solid polished brass.

The square base can be attached to the ceiling through 4 holes in the base.

Each metal lamp holder carries one standard small screw E 14 light bulb up to 40 Watts each, for a total of four bulbs. At present fitted & photographed with clear Candle 25 Watts light bulbs that are included in the price. Other E14 light bulb shapes could be used for a different look.

The price is for the pair of lights together, but they can also sell separately.

Both lights are in very good condition. Both brass bases have the original vintage clear lacquer present on the solid polished brass and an attractive warm antique patina & minor marks in line with age & wear. All the 8 shades are in excellent condition with only one have a minor tiny chip at the point of insertion to the base however this is covered when in place. One of the brass bases has a slightly dark tone and some aging along the sides, developed underneath the clear lacquer as expected for its age.

Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport the glass shades would be removed and individually wrapped in bubblewrap and soft cardboard, as would the bases. Together these pieces would fit nicely into a box for posting or shipping.

Additional dimensions -

The brass base alone (without the glass shades) has the following dimensions - Height: 28 cm, Width: 30 cm, Depth: 30 cm.

Each glass shade has the following dimensions -  Height: 21 cm, Width: 9 cm, Depth: 9 cm.
