Gold floral sconces with 10 large crystal flowers, by Solken Lighting, 1970`s ca, German.
Both lights have been thoroughly cleaned respecting the vintage patina. Newly rewired, earthed, in full working order & ready to install. Light bulbs included. It is possible to install these lights in other countries although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity. They can be used with a dimmer.
This pair of sculptural wall lights have the playful design of a bouquet of clear glass flowers. These lights would work well as wall lights or as flush ceiling lights. The sweet design in quality textured glass on a gold plated gilt base would suit a range of interiors such as Art Deco, Traditional, Hollywood Regency, Minimalist or Contemporary.
The 10 clear glass flower shades have textured petals on the outside, while the internal surface is polished smooth. Each light has 5 glass flower shades. The glass shades are securely screwed in place to the frame with a brass domed nut which also serves to finish the flower at the center. On the arm`s thread there is also a lower brass nut to secure the flower shade at the right height.
On each light, the gold plated gilt frame is finished in a high polish which reflects a warm light. Each base has 5 gilt straight arms finishing at the end with a flower. The centre arm is slightly elevated so this flower sits above the rest. This adds depth & layering to the composition.
There is a round white plastic bracket with two holes to screw each light to the wall or ceiling. The main gilt base screws to this bracket, attached at the sides with 2 small screws. This attachment brings the light from the wall adding to the sense of depth.
Each wall light has two metal lampholders and carries 2 standard small screw light bulbs E14 up to 60 Watts each. Presently fitted with standard Pygmy shape clear 25 Watts light bulbs, which are included in this price. These lights could take any other E14 shape light bulbs.
Each wall light can be either operated from the main switch on the wall, or from the base of each light itself as each has a pull cord switch dangling from the bottom. This is finished with a faceted Lucite bead. It is possible to remove this if preferred.
The 10 original glass flowers are all present and in perfect condition. The frames are in very good condition with minor rubbing in a couple of places in line with age. On the back of one of the bases there is the original Solken Leuchten
maker`s label.
These wall lights sell together and the price is for the pair.
Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport the glass flowers would be removed and individually wrapped as would the gold metal bases. Together these pieces would fit nicely into a box for shipping.

The diameter of the gilt metal round base only is 17 cm.
The diameter of the round white plate which attaches to the wall is 12.5 cm.

Arnsberg Germany, neighboured other important light manufacturers such as Kaiser, Cosack & Hillebrand. Solken produced several highly decorative lighting fixtures during the 1960`s & 1970`s. The company is still producing although now focusing on industrial lighting.
