Brass lovebirds Art Nouveau style lamp, 1970`s ca, French.
Thoroughly cleaned respecting the antique patina. Newly rewired & earthed with silk cable, new plug and new switch on the cable. Light bulbs included. This table lamp is ready to use.
At the focal point of this sculptural table lamp is a pair of brass lovebirds in the Neo Art Nouveau style. The tails of the birds flow smoothly to the base which is stylised with a botanical composition of leaves.
The brass base is sculptural, a good casting with quality detail.
The combination of satin & polished brass finishes is cleverly used to contrast. For example the leaves on the base are in satin brass while the veins of the leaves are polished brass. The central column is fluted with groves of satin & polished brass. The satin brass birds have elongated tails in polished brass which serves to exaggerate this movement.
The central brass column of balustrade form continues upwards leading to two brass lamp holders. The column is finished at the top with a removable brass finial holding the lamp shade in place.
This lamp takes two standard big screw light bulbs (E27) up to 40 Watts each.
The original vintage cream fabric lamp shade has a brass trim.
The brass sculpture is in very good condition with the original patina adding character. The lamp shade is in very good condition for its age with no rips or dents and only minor marks/stains.

The lamp shade alone are: Height: 30 cm, Width: 33.5 cm, Depth: 33.5 cm.
Packing is offered free of charge. The lamp shade would be removed. The shade and base would be bubble wrapped separately and boxed safely for transport.
